You will be under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager with a direct reporting line to the team operations manager. Responsibilities include, contract compliance, tendering procedures, the negotiation, procurement & monitoring of the supply chain contract services for the operations team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, forward thinker with an experience of meeting quality, cost and time targets and have the ability to identify and establish opportunities for improvement. Responsibilities include, issue sub-contract recommendation forms, enabling initiation of Sub Contract Agreement, monitor price movements, to produce monthly reports on purchasing performance, act as Supply Chain Champion for designated trades. The senior buyer will also be responsible for ensuring all Procurement department work practices comply with the company’s guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing gains in purchasing deals and providing advantageous pricing and sourcing information to Estimators at Tender stage. Concluding materials and sub contract orders to, or under budget, with competent Vendors whilst managing purchasing tasks in materials and sub contracts. Contribute perpetually to supply chain membership, performance measurement criteria. Our client is looking for a trainee buyer to join the North West office of their national contractor which can be either Liverpool or Manchester depending on your location. Ideally you will have experience with a main contractor and have materials buying experience for construction sites.
